An important update to protect your privacy and data
We’re updating TimelyGrader’s Terms of Service to make them clearer and better reflect how our self-serve platform handles your data.
Important: These changes apply only to TimelyGrader self-serve users. If you access TimelyGrader through an institutional partnership or institutional agreement, these changes do not affect your institution’s agreement with TimelyGrader.
What’s changing?
Updates are designed to provide greater clarity and stronger protections around your content and data.
Your content remains yours.
This was always the case but we’ve made it even clearer that you retain ownership of the content you upload to TimelyGrader, including assignments and other materials to remove ambiguity. Read more about our single data tenancy structure.
Your content isn’t used to train our AI models.
Like the above, our updated Terms explicitly state that TimelyGrader does not use your content to train, fine-tune, or otherwise improve our AI or machine-learning models.
Clearer limits on how we can use your content.
We’ve clarified that content uploaded to TimelyGrader is used to provide and support the service — such as generating requested feedback, grades, and reports. It is not used for advertising, marketing, public promotion, or unrelated commercial purposes.
Clearer, more transparent Terms.
We’ve also reorganized and clarified portions of the Terms so it’s easier to understand your rights and how TimelyGrader operates.
For our institutional partners
Nothing is changing as a result of this update. Institutional partners continue to be governed by their existing agreements with TimelyGrader, including any applicable data protection, security, privacy, and retention requirements.
